Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Treadmill Tracker collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the app and to be clear about it.
Information you provide
When you sign up and use the app, you may provide:
- Account details: email address, and (via Apple or Google sign-in) the basic profile those services share.
- Profile details: display name, username, optional bio and profile photo.
- Optional onboarding details: age, gender, height, weight, fitness level, and goal — used to personalize your experience.
- Treadmill photos you scan to verify a run.
- Messages you send us for support or feedback.
Information created as you use the app
As you use Treadmill Tracker we generate:
- Verified runs and their metrics (distance, time, pace, calories, incline).
- XP, levels, achievements, and streaks.
- Rankings and, if you follow or are followed, your social connections.
- Notifications and your subscription status.
Information collected automatically
We collect limited technical information such as basic device and app details and diagnostics, and signals used to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse or fraud.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Verify runs and calculate your stats, XP, achievements, and rankings.
- Power social features (activity feed, followers) according to your privacy setting.
- Provide support and respond to your requests.
- Keep leaderboards fair and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the app, and comply with the law.
AI run verification
When you scan a treadmill display, the photo is sent to our servers and processed by a third-party AI vision provider (OpenAI) to read the numbers on the display. This processing happens server-side; our provider keys and secrets are never shared with the app.
Verification photos are stored to substantiate your verified runs and are deleted when you delete your account.
Service providers we use
We rely on a small set of trusted providers that process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and photo storage.
- OpenAI — reading your treadmill display for run verification.
- Apple and RevenueCat — processing and managing subscriptions.
- Apple and Google — optional sign-in.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Your activity is shown to other users only according to your privacy setting (public, friends, or private). Public leaderboards display your name, avatar, and verified totals. We may share information when required by law or to protect the app and its users.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete or anonymize your data, including your profile, runs, achievements, follows, notifications, and scanned photos. We may retain a limited amount of information where required by law or to prevent fraud and abuse.
Your rights and choices
You can edit your profile, change your privacy setting, and delete your account at any time in Settings. You can also delete your account or reach us about a data request from our website. To exercise a data request, contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Children
Treadmill Tracker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International processing
We operate the app from the United States, and your information may be processed there. By using the app you understand your information may be transferred and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email.
